Story: Todd (Labine) wants everything to be just perfect at the family cottage where he plans to propose to Cammie (Akerman). If you miss the tagline of this movie, expect to be surprised!

Seeing the first 20 minutes of the movie you might think that you arewatching something between a romantic comedy and a National Lampoon'skind of film. Todd (Tyler Labine) and Cammie (Malin Akerman) are anunmarried couple, trying to get a short break of their hardworkingdaily routine by going to Todd's family cottage for the weekend. Toddis also planning to propose to Cammie in the most romantic place he canthink of, by the lake!

The troubles began when Todd's loafer brother (Dan Petronijevic) andhis weird girlfriend (Lucy Punch) arrive at the cottage without anotice! The two brothers can't get along, they fight and what happensnext is the beginning of a nightmare. The viewer might think for amoment that is seeing a dream sequence or Todd's wishful thinking!Unfortunately everything is true and Todd and Cammie are following apath far more difficult that they can handle, especially Todd.

The movie has a few awkward moments and you aren't sure what to expectnext. Malin Akerman gives a good performance as the determinedwoman-with-a-plan Cammie.

Overall: Recommended.

Firstly i would like to make some clarifications regarding the genre ofthis movie.I don't think this movie should be put under the category ofaction or comedy or thriller, if i was the owner of this title i wouldhave put it under the category of "BOREDOM". This movie definitelyfails to thrill and there was hardly one scene which made me laugh, Soif anyone is expecting to have a good laugh or thrill by watching thismovie "Cottage Country" is not the right movie to watch. There isnothing different or new in this movie, this movie is nothing but bitsand pieces of other horror movies put together. Tyler Labine'sperformance is the only positive factor in this movie and that's thereason why i am rating it with 3 stars and not 1. My advice to thosewho are thinking about picking this movie is to omit this movie andpick another.

Cottage Country (2013) Review by neosakoma from greece
First of all this is a noir comedy. I think it deserves a 5 out of 10 ,which means it's almost watchable. Don't expect a silly comedy , you'llbe disappointed. It has lightweight psychological drama in it. Nicescenery and the music background was OK.

In the start of the film i thought Tyler Labine was a wannabe JackBlack but he deserves a little more.

Malin Akerman was acting great in this movie which i didn't see itcoming in the beginning of the film (Warning: it is not good if shereminds you of your girlfriend).

Lucy Punch was terrible. It is real tragedy to see her in a comedy andit is not the first time this happens.It is definitely better to watchit without even reading the storyline.

Recommended time to watch: Sunday evening
